POETIC REVIVAL

I want to go to a mountain top and scream And scream and scream and scream I want to take a sledge hammer and strike  The rocks and shatter them all to smithereens  I want to pull on my hair  Collapse on the ground And weep and weep and weep I want to wrap my body in a black shroud Get on my knees  Go from here to the tallest mountain And cry  and wail and beg for mercy If there is a God maybe she takes Pity on us and stops this slaughter Maybe we need human sacrifices  Lets round up all the war mongers The people who have committed crimes against humanity Weapon makers, tyrants, dictatores Corrupters, polluters, perverts  And offer them to this God My heart is broken  Our hearts are broken We are all in mourning  For the thousands who have perished To this evil virus 

I feel like crying… I am crying… I could cry forever & ever until I die. My heart heavy with pain  Breaking,  for the children Of  Syria Yemen  Iraq South Sudan For all children in war torn countries across the world. Children lost Children orphaned  Bombed, drowned,  Killed, starved. I cry for countless mothers  Who lost their babes, I cry for fathers  Who lost their sons, Their daughters, Their lives. I could cry forever and ever For women and girls  Tortured  Maimed Burned Raped  I cry. I cry For humanity For brutality of people  Against the weak The disabled  The innocent. Where is the fury of men? Where is the wrath of God? I cry for men For women And God.

You wanted me to believe in God You told me you love me Told me I've been punished For not believing You told me you love me  Yet you broke my heart. Would you come back to tell me What it's like?  Are you in heaven? Did you gaze upon your lost loves? Did they remember you? Do you think of me sometimes? Would you come back in a dream? As a spirit A phantom As a breeze A gust of wind? Come back and tell me Make me a believer Give me the light If you can, if you would, If there is God.
